This is one of my 5 extras photos. I decided to take pictures of flowers because i like how thy are colorful and there are many different types of flowers. i liked this one because the purple stands out a lot and the texture on the stem does too

My Model Kimberly G. These 2 pictures are my favorite of the all the pictures i took.In the top picture i like it because the contrast and i capture one of her personalities. The bottom picture i like a little more because she has like a dorky smile & kimberly is always being dorky.My portraits are suppose to capture my models personality so i think the best one is the bottom one but i also like the top one. The back ground looks cool too because it has like a dark green and it converts to black. over all these pictures to me look nice and i didnt have to fix anything with photoshop, the contrast was fine. This photoshoot i took because of the last one i did i wasnt satisfied with is but now im more please with the way the pictures came out today.

This portrait of Joanne portrays her personality. Joanne is a a shy person and is very conservative. I had to fix the contrast in the picture because it was a little dull. I liked that she had a flower in her head but i wish it would of showed more.Im gonna redo this shot maybe, because i dont think i did real good on this photoshoot.

These 3 pictures i took outside. i didnt use to hot light i just used a lighting board & we caught the light from the sun. We did this to create a cool perception of the picture. The first picture was my favorite with the light & the way she was sitting too. The second picture i liked it cuz she has like a soft light on her face and the background is blurred so all the focus is on her. The third picture is alright but i didnt really likes it. With all 3 of this pictures i wasn't satisfied and i know i could of done better.

Shayla was my model for this photo shoot for my Senior Ex. These two pictures were the best of the bunch. I really like the top picture more because it really shoes Shaylas personality more. Shes hard core. I fixed the picture up a little with photo shop just to adjust the brightness and contrast.

My model was Yaritza. In these pictures Yari was just being herself. She is a kid at heart and is always smiling. I didnt really like her bracelets on her but it shows who she is. I like the contrast in these pictures.

For this photo shoot today i shot pictures of two of my young friends. In the top two pictures what i liked the most was that she looks real like simple but still looks beautiful.

          Danitza U. was my model. In the many pictures i took of her this one best captured her personality. Shes always is being shy around everyone. I was surprised that even with her eyes closed the picture still works. I fixed the contrast a little with photo shop.

   In this photo shoot my model was Jackie. She has different personalities. Sometimes shes really serious like in the second picture, other times shes loud & laughing like crazy like in the second picture & the rest of the times if shes not doing the first too shes always just smiling at the randomest things. After this photo shoot i know i am very capable of taking pretty pictures &  catching a persons personality in the pictures i take of them. 

These pictures i really liked the lighting in these pictures.

Out of this photo shoot these 3 pictures were my favorite.  In my portraits i like to capture the persons personality. Cynthia my model she is always smiling and being a happy person. you rarely see her sad.

My model in this photo shoot was gabby. This was my favorite picture. I really dont have no up close portraits of my models & this one was one of my first ones. At first the picture it didnt really have no contrast but with photo shop i gave it a lil light & contrast to her face. It looked dull & like not interesting at all. I think i am making progress with my portraits theme.

In this picture i like how my model brianna is sitting. The contrast is really nice & so is the lighting

I like the lighting in these pictures it gives her a soft tan tone on her skin. In every picture she shows her personality witch is weird and silly. The texture in her scarf makes the picture look cool.

I like how her shadow makes the picture look cool. Her pose and outfit is something different. The composition of the pic is very nice.

 What i like about this picture is her body shape. I like how she stand out from the background. 

The dark navy blue of her shirt makes her skin color contrast look tan. I choose to take this picture outside because of the background. Its something different. I used the burn tool in photoshop to give the background a little more contrast then it had.

I took these pictures outside near the grand theater. i used a hot lamp so i can get a different color and contrast of the picture. The top picture i love a lot because i love the angel i took it from and how it looks and with the hot lamp the shadow it creats, the bottom pic looks real cool too because of the hot lamp it makes her face like pop out and the shadow on the wall it all goes together and everything in the back ground is all outta focus.

                                                                   Richard Avendon

 Richard Avedon was born in New York City on May 15, 1923 and pasted away on October 1, 2004. His family is Jewish. He attended Dewitt Clinton High School in the  Bronx, Where he worked on the school news paper. He attended Columbia University and after a while being there he started as a photographer for Merchant Marines in 1942. His Dad gave him his first camera, a Rolleiflex. His father gave it to him as a going away present. In 1944 Richard Avedon began working as a advertising photographer for a department store, but shorty after he started working there he was discovered by Alexey Brodovitch. Alexey is an art director for the fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar.

          Avedon set up his own studio and began taking images for magazines including Vogue in 1946. He became chief photographer for Harper’s Bazaar. Avedons type of pictures was not just boring and plan , he showed took pictures of his models and portrayed them as full of emotion, smiling, laughing and many times in action. In 1966 Avedon left Harper’s Bazaar to work as a staff photographer for Vogue magazine. He became the lead photographer for Vogue and photographed most of the covers from 1973 until Anna Wintour became editor in chief in the late 1988. In addition to taking pictures of fashion he branched out and started photographing patients of mental hospitals, the Civil Rights Movemtn ib 1963 protesters of the Vietnam War, and later the fall of Berlin Wall. During that [eriod Avedon created two fmous sets of portraits of The Beatles The first was taken in mid to late 1967 and It became one of the major rock poster series.

         He was always interested in how portraiture captures the personality and soul subject. His reputation as a photographer became widely known. He took a lot of pictures of famous people. His portraits are easily distinguished by their minimalist style. This is where the person is looking squarely in the camera, posted in front of a a sheer white background.

 

            In 1944 Avedon married Dorces Nowell, who later on became a model and became known as Doe Avedon . Nowell and Avedon divorced after five years of marriage. In 1951 he married Evenlyn Franklin. She died on March 13, 2004. They had one son together, John Avedon . On October 1, 2004 Avedon died of a brain hemorrhage in San Antonio Texas, while shooting an assignment for The New Yorker. At the time of his death, he was also working on a new project titled Democracy to focus on the run up to the 2004 U.S presidential election. Avedon keeps living thru his son and his four grandchildren.

October 7 2010. This is another picture for my senior ex. My model was Silvia. As you can see in her picture she is very funny and weird and thats what i liked about this picture because it portrayed who she really is. I also like how the angle of her body, how her arm is positioned. The colors in her shirt really make her skin color and the contrastes of her skin stand out. I love the lighting and how it came out.

Sept. 28, 2010 Here are a couple more pictures i took for my senior ex. I had a lot of fun working with my model because she has a good scene of humor and did good with the directions i gave her. The lighting in these pictures make her stand out a lot but it also reflects on her personality. She is a very bright and full of spirit person but at the same time she has hurt inside her. and how its darker on the outside and as it goes towards the middle it gets brighter.

Project Description

What I will be doing my project on will be taking Portraits of Young women's inner beauty. Showing different types of diversity in young women. The pictures will be shot at the studio in the class room, Also outside in nature capturing within them the beauty they have in natural lighting.

Type of Work: Portraiture

Concept

I will be showing different types of young womens inner beauty as well as the pride they have on how differently they are. Living day by day, Happy by there own beauty, not letting other get there self asteam down with silly remarks.

Vision

I will like the views to realize to judge each other by their inner self instead of how other portray them selfs as. I hope everyone realizes that no ones perfect and everyone is beautiful in there own unique way.

Inspiration

My inspiration was by seeing so many people being judged by others by how they look rather then who they really are.

Canon Camera, Stove, Studio Background, Photoshop, Outside Nature.
